Buck Creek Baptist Church exists to "make biblical disciples in relational environments."  We are currently seeking a full-time Minister to Youth.  This candidate will have a call from God to minister to youth and their families, be biblically qualified (1 Timothy 3:1-7) and a student of the Scriptures.  Must have strong relational skills and can communicate with and lead students and adults.  Must also be in agreement with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.

Position Title: Youth Minister

Reports To: Senior Pastor

Principle Function

1.   Plan, administer, coordinate, supervise and evaluate a comprehensive and active Youth Ministry of Buck Creek Baptist Church.

2.   Assist the Senior Pastor with ministerial and support needs as they arise.

Specific List of Responsibilities

1. Youth Responsibilities

To provide Bible study for students during the Sunday morning and evening time. This would include planning for space, approval of curriculum and other resources to be used and the recruitment and training of Sunday Evening Small Group workers.

To provide for the Wednesday night programming which involves approximately 1 1/2 hours. This time is spend in spiritual growth activities such as singing, sharing, creative games and activities. This time includes a devotional message or Bible study from the Minister of Youth.

To plan and provide activities and outings for youth to meet their social needs. It is important that the Minister of Youth has sufficient workers to help supervise these social activities.

Plan and coordinate youth activity calendar.

Coordinate fund raising activities to generate funding for the youth functions.

Advise in the use of program materials, equipment, supplies, and space by youth in all church program organizations.

It is understood that a great deal of time will be spent investing in students on a one-to-one basis, building relationships, strengthening self-esteem and encouraging students to really become established disciples and disciple-makers.

To make calls or visit students when they are in a hospital or in other primary moments of their lives. Connect to new students through home calls and campus contacts (such as at school lunch or after school contacts).

Work with program leaders and teachers and appropriate staff members to resolve philosophical, procedural, and scheduling problems in the youth ministry.

In consultation with Youth Ministry Team, prepare an annual budget for recommendation to the Budget Planning Committee.

2. Other general responsibilities:

Cooperate with the Senior Pastor and other staff members in promoting the entire ministry plan of Buck Creek Baptist Church.

Be available for counseling of church and non-church members as needs arise.

Assist Nominating Committee in recruiting and enlisting needed workers for all ministry areas.

Utilize the services of the secretarial and facilities staff, which are consistent with their Position Descriptions.

Supply articles/announcements on a periodical basis for use in Buck Creek publications relating to your responsible area of ministry.

Give full support to the Unified General Operating Budget of Buck Creek and avoid soliciting or expending funds not previously authorized.

Serve as an effective staff liaison to assigned Ministry Teams and/or Standing Committees.

Adhere to church approved guidelines as set forth in Buck Creeks Bylaws and Policies and Procedures Manual.

3. Basic personal responsibilities:

Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer and meditation.

Maintain proper priorities in your home and be a spiritual leader to your spouse and children, if married.

Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.

Be involved in Small Groups and participating in developing disciples through Small Group mentoring.

Financially support the work of Buck Creek Baptist Church by your faithful and sacrificial giving.

Be a Team Player that actively takes part in securing the overall healthy and vision of the Leadership Team.

4. Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
